Dancing with the Ohio Valley Stars

Dancing with the Ohio Valley Stars" is an annual fundraising event organized by the Augusta Levy Learning Center. In this event, local celebrities from various professions, such as a firefighter, detective, and news anchor, partner with dance professionals to compete in a dance competition. The event features couples who will spend eight weeks preparing their routines before competing for a trophy at Wheeling’s Capitol Theatre.

The event is a significant community and fundraising effort, bringing together prominent local figures for a night of entertainment and competition.

Inclusion on Ice

"Inclusion on Ice" is an annual event aimed at breaking down barriers that prevent individuals with physical and mental disabilities from participating in ice skating. Hosted by the Augusta Levy Learning Center, Easterseals Rehabilitation Center, and the Wheeling Nailers, the event transforms the Wheeling Park Ice Rink into an accessible venue for all, including those who use wheelchairs, walkers, and sleds.

Spectrum of Color 5K Fun Run

The Spectrum of Color 5K Fun Run is an annual inclusive fun run organized by the Augusta Levy Learning Center, benefitting the Shawn Ramsay  Autism Scholarship. The event is designed to be inclusive and non-competitive, encouraging participants to challenge themselves rather than compete against others. The registration fees and proceeds from the race directly support the one-on-one student programming at the Augusta Levy Learning Center, ensuring that all funds raised go towards enhancing the educational and therapeutic services provided to children with autism.

Hoorah 2 Heroes Law Enforcement Hillraiser (12 HR) Endurance Challenge

The Hoorah 2 Heroes Law Enforcement Hillraiser (12 HR) Endurance Challenge is a timed cross-country trail race through selected arduous hills and terrain located in Ohio County, West Virginia. The event runs for 12 hours non-stop throughout the night. During that time, the teams will complete as many 3.1-mile laps (5Km) as they are able. One hundred percent of the entry fees go to the Augusta levy Learning Center. Hoorah 2 Heroes Law Enforcement Team is inspired by first responders and those in the military, and honors people that give service and sacrifice to their fellow humans all over the world. H2H wants to acknowledge the people, that by their own choice, give support to others by getting up and getting it done every day, and through their actions, inspire us all. H2H looks to honor their heroes by living life to its fullest and discovering the hero in all of us and live by the motto “Fear nothing, experience everything.”

Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month

Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month is a dedicated period in April that aims to raise public awareness and promote acceptance of autism spectrum disorders. The month is marked by various activities and initiatives to educate the public, support individuals with autism and their families, and fundraise for autism services and research.
